Claims Support

File a claim with clarity and calm.

If you’ve experienced a loss, our first job is to help you get your bearings, understand your options, and coordinate next steps with the carrier that insures your policy.

  • 1 Make sure everyone is safe and take any urgent steps to protect life and property.
  • 2 Call or email Ravelin so we can help you understand coverage and deductibles.
  • 3 When you’re ready, file the claim together with us or directly with your carrier.
How the process works

Three simple steps to start your claim

Every situation is different, but most property and auto claims follow a similar rhythm. Here’s how we typically help.

1
Stabilize and document the loss

Address immediate safety concerns, prevent further damage if it’s safe to do so, and take clear photos or videos of the scene and any damaged property.

2
Contact Ravelin for guidance

We’ll quickly review your coverages, discuss how deductibles apply, and help you decide whether to file a claim or handle a smaller loss out-of-pocket.

3
File with the carrier & follow through

When you’re ready to move forward, we’ll help you submit the claim, share supporting documents, and stay involved as your carrier assigns an adjuster and works toward resolution.

Claim-day reminders

Key things to keep in mind when a loss occurs

The moments right after a loss can feel chaotic. These reminders can help you protect yourself, your property, and the strength of your eventual claim.

  1. 1
Safety first and mitigate further damage.
Assist any injured parties, call emergency services when needed, and take practical steps (when it’s safe) to prevent additional damage — shutting off water, tarping a roof, boarding a window, etc.
  2. 2
Contact us and your carrier promptly.
Most policies require timely reporting. Quick notice helps the carrier respond, assign an adjuster, and get you resources sooner.
  3. 3
Be careful what you sign or agree to.
Before signing work authorizations, public adjuster contracts, or repair agreements, check in with us so we can help you avoid surprises or conflicts with your coverage.
Before you call

Details your carrier is likely to ask for

Claims representatives follow a script to make sure they capture everything needed to open your file. This list can serve as a quick checklist while you get ready.

  • Which policy is involved (home, auto, umbrella, etc.)
  • Date and approximate time of the loss
  • Address or location where it occurred
  • Who discovered the damage and when
  • Any emergency services or contractors already on site
  • Whether the home is currently livable or the vehicle is drivable
